Born and raised in Darwin, Australia, Julie first came to Vancouver as part of a year-long holiday and decided she didn't want to leave.

Four years later she found herself at Alaska By Design, sharing her love for travel with ten years in the industry.

Part of what Julie loves about Vancouver is the surrounding mountains, fun nightlife and proximity to beaches.

What is your favorite rail tour in Alaska?

The "Prince William Sound Denali Explorer" package is a must-do in Alaska, thanks to its inclusions of glacier cruising, flightseeing, and bear viewing in redoubt bay & Denali National Park. Animal lovers will really appreciate the number of opportunities for wildlife viewing, and you're bound to get some great photos you can look back on for a lifetime.

What is your favorite place in Alaska?

I would love to visit Denali National Park or Kenai Fjords National Park in Alaska. The mountains, glaciers, forests and wildlife are all absolutely stunning!

What experience in Alaska should everyone experience at least once?

Driving the Denali Highway is an incredible way to see the Alaskan wilderness and wildlife. If you don't drive, you can also take a coach tour for a day along the highway where fantastic guides will share their knowledge and help to point out sightings.
