Wrangell St. Elias National Park | Wrangell St. Elias National Park Remote Lodges & Activities

To the east of Anchorage lies Wrangell-St Elias National Park, which borders with Glacier Bay National Park, Tetlin National Wildlife Refuge and Canada’s Kluane National Park to form the largest protected area on the planet, justifiably recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Wrangell-St Elias alone is larger than Switzerland and boasts the world’s largest non-polar icefield, as well as countless glaciers, mountains and a still-smoking volcano.

The former mining settlements of Kennicott and McCarthy provide a glimpse into life in the heart of this vast Alaskan wilderness.
